Information Aggregation via Contracting

چکیده
When a group of investors with dispersed private information jointly invest in risky project, how should they divide the project's profit? We show that simple contract dividing profits proportion to investors' risk tolerances may facilitate aggregation by altering risk-taking incentives when decide on investment strategies respond information. Our results provide contracting-based approach for aggregation, which is an alternative learning from endogenous market variables (e.g., prices) via contingent schedules as seen well-known rational expectations equilibrium models.

Co-Clustering via Information-Theoretic Markov Aggregation
We present an information-theoretic cost function for co-clustering, i.e., for simultaneous clustering of two sets based on similarities between their elements. By constructing a simple random walk on the corresponding bipartite graph, our cost function is derived from a recently proposed generalized framework for information-theoretic Markov chain aggregation. The goal of our cost function is ...
متن کاملOptimal Kullback-Leibler Aggregation via Information Bottleneck
In this paper, we present a method for reducing a regular, discrete-time Markov chain (DTMC) to another DTMC with a given, typically much smaller number of states. The cost of reduction is defined as the Kullback–Leibler divergence rate between a projection of the original process through a partition function and a DTMC on the correspondingly partitioned state space. Finding the reduced model w...
متن کاملContracting Timetable Information Networks
During the last years, impressive progress has been achieved in the field of speed-up techniques for DIJKSTRA’s algorithm. Due to the availability of road networks, most speed-up techniques were developed for such networks. The fastest known techniques use contraction, a procedure that reduces the graph size, in order to gain their impressive speed-ups. However, in a recent work it was observed...
متن کاملInformation Measures via Copula Functions
In applications of differential geometry to problems of parametric inference, the notion of divergence is often used to measure the separation between two parametric densities. Among them, in this paper, we will verify measures such as Kullback-Leibler information, J-divergence, Hellinger distance, -Divergence, … and so on. Properties and results related to distance between probability d...
متن کاملContracting Excellence via Continuous Process Improvement
30 Process improvements to streamline contracting processes are often not undertaken because of the misconception that federal and agency-specific acquisition regulations are impediments. That misconception results from a desire to maintain acquisition integrity through the application of sometimes stringent standards and detailed processes, even when regulations and directives provide guidance...
